Purpose of Job
Supports applications research to develop new products and applications to meet existing and emerging customer and market needs.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and maintain a variety of research instruments within the laboratory.
- Supports research projects that address the technical objectives of the research group including measurement of surface activity, rheology and foaming characteristics, synthesis of new molecules and applications testing in a variety of different end use markets.
- Documents results in research reports and presents key findings in group meetings, departmental seminars and industry associate meetings.
- Interacts with manager and group members, and routinely interacts with other research groups in the local laboratory.
- Develops and maintains relationships within research group, LC R&D department, and possibly with contacts outside the R&D department, depending upon the domain of the job.
Education
Ph.D. in Chemistry (preferred) or other physical science.
Experience
Ph.D. plus 1-2 years relevant experience is preferred. Typically regarded as the entry level job for new graduates.
