What We're Looking For

Works with Research Scientists to evaluate existing and new chemistries, processes, or applications related to Indorama products. This position is focused in the laboratory working on directed experiments in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an awareness of the literature and other sources of information to remain current with developments in the area of functional products of interest to the Corporation.
  • Work to complete projects in the US project pipeline.
  • Set up and execute laboratory work to meet both internal and external customer expectations.
  • Set up and execute laboratory work as outlined by R&D scientist.
  • Analyze samples by analytical methods or applications testing.
  • Keep neat and orderly notebooks containing a record of all work performed.
  • Maintain other records as necessary to support patent applications for innovative products.
  • Maintain orderly laboratory space.
  • Follow all safety and training requirements.
  • Support R&D Lab Manager with properly managing the lab resources.

Manage and optimize all process under your responsibility taking into consideration Quality, Legality and Food Safety (if applicable) and client needs on Indorama's products and services.

Guarantee all documentation under your responsibility updated and available for consulting.

Interact with R&D team to improve the lab, lab methods, etc., and other internal and external clients appropriately, as needed.

Requirements

Education / Experience

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering required with 0-2 years related experience (R&D Lab experience preferred)
  • Associates Degree with 5+ years related experience (R&D Lab experience preferred)

Skills And Knowledge

  • Surfactants knowledge in laboratory or application use strongly preferred
  • Computer literacy with databases, word processing, spreadsheets
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills preferred
  • Formulation experience in Home Care preferred
