Research Biological Laboratory Technician

About the role

This position serves as a Without Compensation Research Biological Laboratory Technician within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden.

Responsibilities

Independently conducting experiments, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Implementing standard lab techniques, in protocol. Optimizing and troubleshooting existing protocols through literature search and colleague communication. Using animal tissues and cell culture in approved methods. Training undergraduate students and collaborating with team members under Principal Investigator oversight. Participating in statistical data analysis and communication of findings. Preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
