Research Associate/Scientist - Kuan Lab
Position Summary
The Department of Neuroscience and the Center of Brain Immunology and Glia at the University of Virginia is seeking an experienced and motivated Research Scientist or Research Associate to work in the Kuan Lab. The position focuses on investigating vascular factors in neurodegeneration and/or experimental thrombolytic and collateral circulation treatments using murine models.
Responsibilities
- Designing and executing experiments independently with minimal instructions from the Lab Head.
- Full-time research or scholarship at the University.
- Preparatory for a full-time academic or research career.
- Teaching junior postdoctoral fellows and supervising research assistants.
Minimum Qualifications
- Research Associate: Doctoral degree.
- Research Scientist: Requires a doctoral degree or master's degree with significant experience.
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Salary Range
The anticipated salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Position Type & Work Location
This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
