About the role
The Mellon College of Science (MCS) at Carnegie Mellon University seeks a Research Associate in the Barth Laboratory. This position involves using a variety of software packages, performing research experiments, documenting information, summarizing statistical information, building and validating quantitative models, and interacting with a diverse range of partners.
Responsibilities
- Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect, and record results or observations.
- Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures.
- Researches and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination, or presentation; writes technical reports.
- May build and validate quantitative models.
- Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
- May program software in support of job functions.
- Attends project meetings.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, or related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, reasoning, and communication skills.
