About the role

The Biological Sciences department at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Research Assistant to support undergraduate laboratory operations. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the labs run smoothly and provide a hands-on learning experience for students.

Responsibilities

• Makes solutions and prep materials for lab classes.
• Maintains stock lab supplies in both MI and DH labs.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and glassware.
• Performs specific lab duties as required by the lab classes.
• Prepares solutions and aliquots materials for lab classes.
• Works effectively with instructors, teaching assistants, and students.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in research, data collection, analysis, and record management is highly preferred.
• A combination of education and proven experience demonstrating comparable knowledge may be considered.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Child Protection Clearances (Act 153).
• OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training.
