Research Associate I/II - Exploratory R&D

Job Summary

BioLegend is seeking a Research Associate to join the Exploratory R&D team. The ideal candidate will contribute to new cell culture reagent product development and support existing products.

About the Role

The Research Associate will design experiments, conduct independent research, lead laboratory activities, and troubleshoot cell-based assays. They will also create SOPs and documentation for product development.

Responsibilities

• Determine the feasibility and launch of new products through optimized cell culture models
• Collaborate with manufacturing/quality control teams for technical transfers
• Support existing products by troubleshooting issues
• Design and execute experiments independently
• Train and update inventory of laboratory supplies
• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Quantify and characterize antibodies using various techniques
• Document processes and improvements in accordance with ISO standards
• Multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Mammalian cell culture experience
• Knowledge of process development for reagents such as antibody production
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in an academic or industry laboratory
• 1-2+ years of cell culturing experience
• Experience with SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and flow cytometry

Skills

• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with cell culturing and handling primary cells
• Experience with cell-based assays and antibody development
