Research Associate, Cell Line Development (Contractor)

About the role

The Research Associate will join the Cell Line Development team to develop and optimize mammalian cell lines for therapeutic production. This includes conducting cell line engineering, screening, and optimizing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CHO cell line development processes including transfection, cloning, characterization, and cell banking using state-of-the-art equipment.
• Complete comprehensive documentation of studies in an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
• Work with scientists to optimize workflows across clone screening, transfection, small-scale assays, and product quality assessment.
• Contribute to innovation focused on the development of novel cell line development workflows and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Engineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year experience culturing mammalian cells.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Motivated to contribute to team goals.
• Creative problem solver with a passion for driving disruptive technology.
• Familiarity with transfections, antibody/protein expression, cell culture liquid handling automation, ambr bioreactors, and/or ddPCR is a plus.

Skills

• Strong laboratory skills and knowledge of cell culture techniques.
• Experience with ELNs and other lab management tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Schedule

This role is a full-time, 6 month contract position. There is potential for extension or conversion into a permanent position based on business needs.
