Research Assistant Professor - Internal Medicine (Physical Activity and Weight Management)

Job Duties

• Manage the day-to-day activities for the Kansas Weight Management Programs.
• This includes strategic planning, personnel management, budget, continuing education.
• Implement behavioral strategies and oversee program expansion at KUMC, Greater Kansas City, and rural Kansas.
• Develop and integrate KWMP with medical conditions for specialty programs (e.g., liver, cardiovascular).
• Develop and supervise externally funded clinical trials through KWMP.

Research

• Develop and maintain an externally funded research agenda.
• Present and publish scientific findings in peer-reviewed forums.
• Develop collaborations at KUMC/KU and other academic and private entities.

Education and Service

• Lead the behavioral component of KWMP.
• Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career investigators.
• Serve on thesis and dissertation committees as appropriate.
• Serve on editorial boards and grant review panels.
