Research Assistant II - Pediatrics - Neurology NRI

Job Duties

• Plans, directs, and conducts research experiments.
• Performs animal husbandry, animal behavior experiments, tissue collection and isolation of RNA and protein from multiple tissue types.
• Evaluates and analyzes data especially behavior and molecular studies.
• Counsults and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
• Rigorously documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
• Trains and orients less experienced research staff.
• Defines problems and possible solutions.
• Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
• Maintains all certifications required by institution.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
• Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
• Ideal candidate will have meticulous record keeping skills.
• Experience in performing animal behavior experiements.
