About the role

The Transgenic Animal Genome Editing Facility is seeking a Research Assistant II/III to join our team. This position is part of the Research Division and reports to the Director of the Transgenic Animal Genome Editing Facility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute transgenic animal models for gene editing projects
  • Perform genetic manipulations and analyze results using CRISPR/Cas9 technology
  • Collaborate with other scientists to develop and optimize genome editing protocols
  • Document experiments and maintain accurate records of research activities
  • Participate in regular lab meetings and contribute to ongoing research projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 technology and animal husbandry techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and animal genetics
  • Experience with animal care and handling
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
