Job Summary
This Research Assistant will perform translational/clinical research including screening, recruitment, signing of human research subjects and basic lab duties. The RA will be responsible for non-invasive signing, basic lab procedures, and data management (accurate data entry, retrieval and quality control).
Responsibilities
- Subject recruitment and screening;
- Help with timely and effective recruitment of human subjects for laboratory research projects (e.g. developing new recruitment resources, advertising, performing telephone screenings, etc.);
- Provide quality control of phone screenings and scheduling;
- Make reminder calls to subjects for signing at the Georgia Prevention Institute.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research or clinical setting.
- OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' experience in a research or clinical area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic lab experience.
Skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to use sound judgement;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: B5
Salary Range: $17.88/hourly - $19.23/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
Conditions of Employment
- All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
- If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check complete for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
- Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
