About the role
Completes advanced research to support the activities of Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, research, and recommend new investment ideas
- Understand trends in financial markets and impact on current and future investments
- Analyze portfolio risks, exposures, and performance drivers
- Participate in development of less experienced personnel
- Work with client-facing colleagues to strengthen client relationships and gain new ones
- Prepare documentation to communicate portfolio performance, investment options, risks, and pending decisions
- Participate in regular meetings and calls to discuss organizational developments, investment strategy, performance, and risk
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
- Strong understanding of capital markets
- Current knowledge of the state of the investment management industry
- Proficient with common industry tools
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience (preferred)
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or progressing toward obtaining CFA designation (preferred)
- Highly analytical
- Research-driven skill set
- Motivated self-starter comfortable working with senior management
Pay
The pay range for this position is $106,700.00 - $177,900.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
