About the Role

The Research Analyst 2 position provides research support for medical or academic scholars, leading at least one project. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data, creating reports, graphics, maps, and presentations, as well as training and educating new staff. The role may involve conducting assessments, developing data collection tools, and maintaining databases. Strong project management skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team are required. The analyst must understand medical, scientific, statistical, or business terminology and make conceptual connections between related topics.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as head research analyst on at least one research project
  • Design and drive initiatives to maintain software’s clinical relevance and accuracy
  • Conduct routine audits and reviews to ensure research data accuracy
  • Create and maintain standardized data collection forms
  • Use system application and web-based software as required by projects
  • Establish relationships with Research Sponsors, Primary Investigators, and Baylor Scott & White Health personnel to fulfill research and quality requirements, complete grant applications, and manuscript submissions
  • Conduct searches of medical, business, and academic databases for scholarly articles and summarize findings
  • Acquire and distribute information in print and electronic formats to support healthcare research or quality improvement projects
  • Complete standardized forms, applications, and documents using system software
  • Provide writing and editorial assistance for grant submissions and research publications
  • Produce and update charts, graphs, or tables using Excel, PowerPoint, and other software
  • Manage multiple daily, weekly, and monthly tasks while adhering to deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or Medical Sciences (required)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent scientific writing skills
  • Project management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience relevant to General Surgery Residents Gap Year.
