Research Analyst

Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth research and analysis, and prepare clear research reports and summaries related to competitive and business intelligence
- Conduct online legal research using Lexis, Practical Law, and other legal and business databases
- Aid attorneys with legal research needs and educate them on effective use of research tools
- Set up, maintain, and curate client- and industry-specific news feeds and alerts using news aggregation software
- Prepare legislative histories and related research materials
- Proofread and perform cite-checking on briefs and legal documents
- Administer the intel acquisitions process, including ordering resources and coordinating subscription renewals
Qualifications
- Excellent research, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to build effective working relationships with attorneys and professional staff at all levels of the firm
- Working knowledge of business and competitive intelligence research, as well as legal and business terminology
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Library or Information Science preferred (Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; prior legal or law firm experience is strongly preferred
