Research Administrative Coordinator

About the role

Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and link between clinical research operations and financial services departments to ensure research patients are scheduled, authorized, adjudicated and/or coded appropriately following applicable federal and state law. Responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating protocol specific instructions related to billing and adjudication for sponsored and cooperative group research across BayCare. Maintains knowledge of coding requirements for all active research protocols, ensures First Coast notification and approval for trials with Special Determination Coverage, sets-up and facilitates trainings for Patient Financial Services (PFS) departments on specific billing guides, and supports leadership with training and onboarding new team members. Serves as a backup and mentor to the Research Administrative Specialists. Has extensive knowledge of Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Coverage Determination (NCD) with an emphasis on section 310.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in research, finance, or other medical/clinical coding
• Macro-level comprehension of research financing
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field

Schedule

• Hybrid: Tuesday–Thursday in office; Monday and Friday remote
• Full-time, non-exempt
• Shift hours: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• No weekend work
