Res Care Nurse (LPN or RN) - Part Time, 2nd Shift

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate total nursing care for residents. Participates in resident and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in a clinical setting and in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, policies and procedures, ethical statement and resident rights, subject to the employee handbook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for residents.
• Participate in resident and family teaching.
• Provide leadership by working cooperatively to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, policies, procedures, ethical standards, and resident rights.
• Perform physical demands including full range of body motion, intermittent walking, lifting (50+ pounds), bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, standing; lift work above shoulders; maintain corrected vision and hearing; demonstrate excellent verbal communication.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current Ohio license for nursing.

Qualifications

• Maximum exposure regarding universal precautions.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of residents served.
• Basic knowledge of principles related to the aging adult and problems associated with aging.
• Ability to assess data reflective of resident status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each resident's need.
• Provide care as directed by policy and procedure within the scope of an LPN/RN license.
