Requirements Analyst

Location: MacDill AFB, FL, US

This position supports the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) at Headquarters SOCOM on MacDill AFB, FL. The role involves maintaining Network Operations (NetOps), systems and network infrastructure, end-user and common device support, configuration, change, license, and asset management, training, and Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services for USSOCOM and its global operations.

About the role

The Requirements Analyst supports the ServiceNow Platform Support Team by gathering and documenting requirements for new service requests. The role involves interpreting and formalizing ambiguous requests from various Components, TSOCs, and enterprise stakeholders into clear, actionable IT requirements. The analyst ensures seamless integration and support of IT infrastructure while representing the team at governance meetings and assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and surveys for new services, software, and hardware.
• Translate initial, often ambiguous, requests into clear, detailed requirements specifications, user stories, and functional documents.
• Manage and document changes to baseline requirements through a formal change control process.
• Act as a liaison between end-users and the technical team to ensure business needs are effectively communicated.
• Analyze current business processes and workflows to ensure changes align with technical capabilities.
• Represent the ServiceNow Platform Support Team at the USSOCOM ServiceNow Governance Review Board meetings, capturing and relaying incoming change requests, assessing feasibility, timeframe, and ROI.
• Assist in preparing for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by setting up test environments and preparing test data.
• Create detailed UAT test cases and test scripts based on identified business requirements.
• Execute UAT test scripts under supervision, covering functional and end-to-end scenarios.
• Log and track defects found during testing, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
• Ensure new service requests are accurately captured and meet the articulated business needs of stakeholders.
• Produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of requirements and test results.
• Support the efficient progression of change requests from initial request to final implementation.
• Ability to work shifts and weekends as required.

Requirements

• A current DoD Security Clearance at the Top Secret (TS) level with the ability to obtain SCI access.
• Basic understanding of business processes and IT systems.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and process modeling tools (e.g., Visio) is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; 4 years of experience with an Associate’s Degree or 2 years with a Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification (highly desired).
• Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or equivalent certification (highly desired).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field (highly desired).
• Experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (highly desired).
