About the role
Hattie Larlham is a not-for-profit disability service organization providing care and support to over 1,600 children and adults throughout Ohio. The Representative Payee Coordinator plays a critical role in safeguarding the financial well-being of the individuals we serve while strengthening compliance and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Audit monthly Individual financial packages to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with Residential Financial Procedures.
- Reconcile and physically audit petty cash accounts across residential locations.
- Partner with Residential Managers and Coordinators to resolve variances, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
- Track submissions, maintain audit spreadsheets, and issue reports on missing or delinquent financial packets.
- Prepare annual Representative Payee Reports for the Social Security Administration and assist with applicable tax filings.
- Serve as liaison with the Social Security Administration regarding payee status, benefits, and documentation.
- Establish and maintain STABLE accounts and monitor balances to ensure benefit eligibility compliance.
- Collaborate with Residential and Finance Leadership to strengthen internal cash controls and recommend process improvements.
- Perform other related duties as requested by direct supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting or Financial related field.
- One year of experience auditing bank statements and general ledgers preferred.
- One year of experience in accounting or financial related role preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows Office 365, Excel, and Word.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to travel within Ohio required.
- Oregon Notary License or ability to obtain one required.

- Experience with financial audits and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of Social Security Administration procedures and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
