Payer Relations Coordinator

About the role

As a Payer Relations Coordinator, you are responsible for managing relationships with insurance payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for skilled nursing services. This role involves verifying patient insurance benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, and resolving any issues related to insurance coverage. The coordinator will work closely with the admissions, billing, and clinical teams to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and optimize revenue cycle outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with insurance payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for skilled nursing services.
• Verify patient insurance benefits.
• Obtain prior authorizations.
• Resolve any issues related to insurance coverage.
• Work closely with the admissions, billing, and clinical teams to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and optimize revenue cycle outcomes.

Requirements

• A high school diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of five years of prior related experience required.
• Prior experience in payroll in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting highly preferred.
