Coordinates Effectively and Efficiently
- Makes sure care is monitored and evaluated by the interdisciplinary team
- Evaluates patients’ families’ needs and concerns and relays them to staff
- Provides emotional support to patients’ families as needed
- Receives and provides general information to patients’ families and visitors
- Assists in resolving issues and problems raised by patients’ families
- Aids in the grieving processes and procedures for patients’ families
Orients/Educates
- Greets individuals in a positive and caring manner
- Orients and educates patients’ families and visitors about the Critical Care waiting area, policies, and procedures
Customer Service/Customer Relations
- Greet individuals in a positive and caring manner
Communication
- Promotes effective communication among the care team, treating clinicians, patients, families, and visitors
- Serves as a liaison between patient care personnel and patients’ families/visitors
Inventory
- Assesses and maintains waiting room supplies in an efficient manner
- Maintains compliance with budgetary guidelines
Regulation
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guidelines/regulations/laws/statutes
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required; Associates Degree, preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting; preferred
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel); required
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills; required
- Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required
- Excellent human relations skills; required
- Excellent interpersonal skills; required
- Working knowledge of the development of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; required
