About the role

The Media Relations Department is seeking part-time game-night staff to assist during select Seattle Kraken home games in the press box. Candidates will work closely with the Media Relations team, representing the Kraken’s culture and brand while maintaining professionalism around athletes, celebrity guests, and high-profile clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local and national media members
  • Assist in distributing in-game information
  • Handle credential distribution
  • Obtain and transcribe post-game quotes from team locker rooms
  • Compile game notes and perform related tasks

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and reprioritize tasks quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with expertise in presenting new ideas
  • Extreme organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects
  • High personal integrity and commitment to the organization’s interests
  • Strong cross-organizational collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Understanding of professional sports environments
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or Public Relations
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Dependability, punctuality, and responsibility

Schedule

Shifts are typically six hours, beginning two hours before game time and ending one hour post-game. Must be available to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Pay

Starting pay is $21.30 per hour, with actual compensation dependent on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) role eligible for overtime.
