Responsibilities
- Manages work load and ensures efficient operations by utilizing policies and procedures.
- Sets up and maintains vendor files to meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Provides technical assistance and problem resolution for assigned area.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of department documents by matching invoices to receipts, confirming costs and quantities, ensuring completeness of supporting documentation, validating general ledger account numbers, verifying existence and validity of contract briefs or purchase orders, and ensuring authorized signatures on payment requests.
- Identifies and researches non-compliance issues and works with vendors and department heads to resolve them.
- Performs data entry of accounts payable information with accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicates with Banner Health customers to ensure an excellent service experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Five years experience in accounting, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable or related field within a large organization.
- Strong working knowledge of mathematics and general office procedures.
- Professional computer proficiency with a working knowledge of various desktop software.
- Maintains a professional demeanor, works independently, and maintains highly confidential data.
- Effective communication and organization skills.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lawson Software accounts payable preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Proficiency with 10-key calculator preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency with various desktop software.
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
- Extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
- Significant use of computer, phone, and general office equipment.
- Adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.
