About the role

The Reporting Services Specialist I oversees the day-to-day operational functions of the Reporting Services department. This includes investigating and processing Writs, Levies, Restraints, Attachments, Garnishments, and child support orders while ensuring the privacy of confidential bank information.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure total document and data integrity.
  • Maximize technology tools available to the department.
  • Prepare departmental reports.
  • Identify and resolve customer service issues.
  • Analyze legal requests to understand and determine the scope of the request, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Communicate and negotiate with serving attorneys or agencies to clarify documentation scope, required due dates, and inform customers about legal processes received.
  • Process payments upon receipt of orders or judgments.
  • Complete research and inquiries on several Northwest systems to identify customer relationships.
  • Respond to legal papers within designated timeframes.
  • Monitor records of legal processes received without judgment.
  • Maintain records of all pertinent information related to legal papers for audit purposes and follow up as needed.
  • Log all incoming requests for tracking and control purposes.
  • Process any releases received promptly.
  • Evaluate records, perform due diligence, and submit unclaimed property reports for all required states.
  • Review IRS B Notice reports for further action, perform due diligence, initiate withholding when required, and ensure compliance with IRA requirements and nonresident alien records for W8Ben recertification.
  • Request recertification for W8Ben forms and track/monitor requested forms.
  • Review daily all IOLTA/IOLAs for compliance with each state’s program and report when necessary.
  • Submit monthly reports and interest to each IOLTA/IOLA Board.
  • Review new IOLTA/IOLAs for notification to applicable states and indicate status in systems.
  • Process any restitution checks received.
  • Perform quality control reviews on dormant accounts.
  • Maintain appropriate departmental records and reports.
  • Recommend improvements to procedures and quality control enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations.
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and department-specific software to maximize efficiency.
  • Work as part of a team and with on-site equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Less than 2 years of Reporting Services experience preferred.
  • 2 - 6 years of related banking experience preferred.
  • 2 - 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze service of process requests.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Team player.
