About the role
Solotech is a global leader in live productions, systems integration, and virtual technology. As a Repair Technician, you will service and support our service department, perform quality control on sold equipment, review and confirm equipment/materials, estimate resource requirements for equipment repair, and handle implementation activities for audio-visual projects or post-sales service and support.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain Solotech and S&SI customer inventory using hand tools, light-duty power tools, electrical meters, and electrical testers, including lighting, sound, video, and rigging entertainment equipment.
- Create reports detailing service work performed.
- Manage spare parts inventory.
- Maintain preventative maintenance and repair procedures.
- Work with Salesforce, D365, and R2 inventory software.
- Work with manager to forecast project needs.
- Interface with Live Production and S&SI Project Managers.
- Work closely with department managers for repair deliveries.
- Ensure technical resources management, including parts and materials necessary to repair, inspect, prepare, and maintain equipment.
- Ensure RMA shipment and returns management.
- Participate in ongoing training programs.
- Identify and eliminate potential risks related to health and safety.
- Carry out all other related tasks required for the position.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience in lighting, audio, video equipment, or electronics repair.
- Excellent understanding of audio, lighting, video projection for both consumer and professional-grade equipment.
- Excellent technical analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Teamwork-oriented.
- Ability to self-manage priorities, respect timelines, and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to self-manage multiple projects at a time.
Skills
- Knowledge of automation systems (Crestron, AMX), video conferencing systems (Polycom, Cisco), lighting systems (DMX, Light Jockey, ETC, Strand), and digital audio processing (Q-SYS, Soundweb, Biamp) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, R2, and D365 is a plus.
- Proficiency with Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
