Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate articulated measuring arms and related portable metrology equipment.
- Perform functional testing to verify repairs meet engineering and quality standards.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical assemblies and electrical wiring/components.
- Troubleshoot electronic boards and micro-electronic components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, repair documentation, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Document repair activities and complete service reports accurately.
- Aid with preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Maintain calibration status of tools and equipment used during repairs.
- Work closely with fellow technicians to troubleshoot complex issues and determine root causes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality, repair efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in product and technical training to expand repair capabilities across additional product lines.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required: 3–5 years of experience repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
- Required: Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Required: Knowledge of electrical systems and electronic components.
- Required: Ability to repair small precision mechanical assemblies.
- Required: Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Required: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Required: Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
- Preferred: Experience repairing articulated measuring arms or portable metrology equipment.
- Preferred: Experience with CMMs, portable measurement systems, or industrial precision equipment.
- Preferred: Understanding of ISO 17025 or similar quality systems.
- Preferred: Experience using service management software such as SMAX.
