Repair Technician

Job Summary & Scope

Failure Diagnostic, Troubleshooting, and Repair/Replacement of Faulty Components in Electronic Equipment.

Ensure sufficient resources are made available to achieve requirements of the policy and review progress against objectives and programs.

Respond to Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Accountabilities

• Manage quality issues and customer satisfaction arising from own activities according to customer requirements, the quality policy, and DBK procedures.
• Repair and maintain electronic equipment such as: Barcode Readers, Mobile Computers, POS Machines, Fusers, Printers, etc.
• Replace faulty components such as: connectors, cables, fuses, etc. (Level I Technicians have limited use of soldering equipment and must be supervised by a Level II/III technician or supervisor.)
• Replace cosmetics deemed worn out or unacceptable based on Peak Technologies' quality guidelines.
• Update software and firmware on electronic equipment.
• Maintain cost-effective levels through good practices, judgment, and utilization of time, equipment, and inventory of new/used parts.
• Minimize and decrease repeat-repairs.
• Record entry for repaired devices into Peak Technologies Tech Parts Inventory System.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education + Experience + Key Traits

• Technical background in electro-mechanical devices such as printers, kiosk/ATM devices, or equivalent experience.
• Associate degree and/or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience in field service or similar industry.
• Certification in information technology or process improvement training desired.
• Operate within division or department policy guidelines using nearly independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Escalate issues discovered while performing required tasks.
• Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand.
• Use and understanding of test/lab equipment such as Voltmeters, Power Supplies, Bench Tools, Soldering Equipment, etc.
• Assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment.
• Troubleshooting of electronic equipment.
• Exposure to limited amounts of noise.

Language Skills

• Primary language used in daily operations is English.
• Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals, and various correspondence from both internal and external sources.
• Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.
