Repair Technician 1 (40 hrs./wk., 260 days)
About the role
The Repair Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various equipment used in educational settings, including instruments, electronic devices, cable systems, and photocopiers. Key duties include diagnosing issues, performing routine and preventative maintenance, completing repairs, maintaining service records, and managing parts inventory.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and routine/preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures/issues.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and materials.
- Maintain a library of technical/repair manuals.
- Prepare and maintain operational records and reports.
- Estimate materials and/or labor costs.
- Use or maintain documentation systems/work orders to track repairs and services.
- Assist or collaborate with other technicians or staff as needed.
- Maintain organization of tools, parts, and workspaces.
- Assist across multiple trades as needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an apprenticeship program from an approved trade or technical school in the applicable specialty trade preferred.
- Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the applicable specialty trade required.
- Licenses/Certificates: Possession of a valid Nevada State Driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the district.
Compensation
Grade 23
Sch A: $25.39 (entry step)
Sch B: $30.60 (entry step)
Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year. New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step of the grade of the position.
