About the Role

The Repair Supervisor leads a team of employees and contractors in all duties required of a repair technician, ensuring high-quality robotic vehicle repairs and efficient processes. This role provides feedback to management on material or process discrepancies that impact product quality or repair efficiency.

The Repair Operations team, part of the Service Center of Excellence, handles service, repair, testing, evaluation, and field support of mobile robots and electromechanical subassemblies at Symbotic’s Wilmington location. The team collaborates with other departments to improve product quality and reliability while supporting customer service requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems, and reporting results via shift production summaries.
  • Maintain compliance with the current schedule and ensure a safe, clean working environment by adhering to and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Supervise a team of 10–15 employees/contractors, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain stock of tools and consumables in good working order.
  • Document employee performance, training, and attendance.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of safety and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Degree from a vocational school/college in a mechanical discipline or a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Machine Shop or Manufacturing Assembly Environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with ERP applications (e.g., SAP) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.
  • Experience in a robotic environment preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Understanding of diverse mechanical and/or electrical test equipment.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and hands-on skills; ability to learn and adapt in a demanding environment.

Work Environment

  • Routine navigation of steep stairs and automation structures, often at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive spaces (e.g., 24 inches).
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for up to 10–12 hours per day.
  • Ability to safely lift items up to 50 lbs and move items up to 80 lbs.
  • Exposure to environmental conditions, including temperatures ranging from 105°F to 32°F.
  • Occasional work at construction sites requiring PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe boots, eye/ear protection, fall protection).
  • Compliance with safety protocols, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and fall protection.
  • Frequent use of hands and feet for repetitive movements, gripping, pushing, pulling, and handling objects.

Pay and Benefits

The base pay range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 – $97,900.00, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, and PTO benefits.
