Repair & Maintenance Technician - Tubular Running Services

Weatherford is seeking an experienced Repair & Maintenance Technician for Tubular Running Services in Vernal, Utah. This hands-on role involves inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools using Weatherford's facilities, equipment, and technical resources.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily operations, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA); report issues promptly.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a safe and presentable condition.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
• Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring devices.
• Follow maintenance processes for unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual inspection, painting, assembly, loading, and storage of tools; complete all required documentation.
• Initiate, update, and close out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders during equipment maintenance.
• Comply with labor time logging by accurately clocking in/out of the Work Order Time tracking system.
• Use tools and lifting equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes) to safely move equipment; must be certified for lifting equipment operation.
• Accept incoming shipments and prepare outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures.
• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from approved suppliers following Weatherford’s guidelines.
• Support LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous efficiency improvement programs.
• Perform other assigned duties safely within physical job constraints.

Requirements

• 1–2.5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• High School Diploma.
• Basic computer skills.

Skills

• Basic mathematics.
• Experience working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements, and explosives.
• Awareness of NDT, NDE, and ATEX policies and principles.
• Ability to diagnose issues with tools/equipment (required for senior roles).
• Proficiency in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment.
• Critical thinking, active learning, and complex problem-solving.
• Strong reading, writing, judgment, and decision-making skills aligned with policies.
• Time management and quality control analysis to meet product standards.
• Ability to order tasks, identify potential problems, and understand solutions.
• Efficient and safe operation of tools and machinery.
• Spatial awareness for assembly, repair, or modifications.

Travel
