Essential Functions
- Analyze project, product, or service requirements and specifications to understand the scope and identify cost elements.
- Congduct thorough research and gather data on materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for the project.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as inside repair, procurement, and repair shop, to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to calculate and prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate historical data, industry trends, and market conditions to determine cost factors and adjust estimates accordingly.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties impacting project costs and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
- Prepare a comprehensive cost breakdown, including labor, materials, equipment, vendors, and overheads.
- Review and analyze supplier and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Present cost estimates to management and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for the proposed cost.
- Build reports for estimate jobs to provide to customers.
- Work with the shop team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Proven work experience as a Cost Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret project specifications and requirements.
- Proficiency in using cost estimation software and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing cost estimates.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry-specific cost factors, materials, and labor rates.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.
- Ability/prior experience in reading bid specifications.

Work Environment
- Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from disagreeable elements.
- Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.
