About the role

As a Rental Manager Trainee, you’ll be part of a dynamic team, equipped to succeed and empowered to develop your career with real growth in a focused and timely fashion. This fast-paced program touches every aspect of the business unit, allowing you to acquire proven industry knowledge, skills, and resources to develop your relationship-building abilities. Though designed to be completed in 18-24 months, there is opportunity to finish in as little as 12 months. The program includes structured work weeks, rotational Saturdays (depending on branch location/hours), and competitive pay with overtime.

The incumbent will be assigned to operational and administrative tasks in support of location and regional management. If you're motivated, coachable, and looking to start your sales, operations, or management career, this role offers a clear path for advancement from within based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Handle sales and processes for inbound calls as well as outbound solicitation.
  • Maintain current and accurate data within the company's marketing database.
  • Generate rental, lease, and used vehicle sales leads.
  • Manage all rental asset processes, including vehicle preventive maintenance and cleanliness standards.
  • Meet overall Ryder market share by successfully executing sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with company, local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, and disputes to maintain and grow the customer base.
  • On a voluntary basis or as scheduled, perform the role of On-Call Representative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business administration or similar related degree preferred).
  • One (1) year or more of customer service experience with issues resolution preferred.
  • Must be computer literate at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to relocate within the region/U.S. at the conclusion of the training program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and self-directed with the ability to focus on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up practices and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Pay

Salaried position with a minimum pay range of $56K and a maximum pay range of $58K. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
