About the role
We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for Rental Field Service Technician new hires. $2,500 is payable after 90-days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 is payable after 180 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Applies advanced-level mechanical aptitude to perform maintenance and repairs to Caterpillar and allied rental equipment in the shop and at customer job sites
- Applies troubleshooting techniques and determines proper repair procedures
- Prepares parts requisitions
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly, and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs
- Advanced-level mechanical aptitude
- The ability to repair Caterpillar and allied components and machines
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The ability to interact with customers on a professional level
- A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
- The ability to learn and apply new knowledge
- Proficient in use of technical software, databases and manuals
- An excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification
- The ability to work additional hours as needed to meet business and customer demands

Qualifications
- Minimum three years' experience performing advanced-level mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar and related competitive equipment
- A high school diploma or GED, required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequent use of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Pay
Actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to base pay, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs (e.g., discretionary or non-discretionary plans), as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
