Responsibilities

  • Learns and uses the work order system accurately and promptly.
  • Completes all necessary documents and parts orders related to repairs.
  • Identifies parts for return and communicates effectively with supervisors about repairs.
  • Engages in required safety practices and maintains a clean work area.
  • Ensures equipment operates safely and complies with manufacturer specifications.
  • Assists in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Attends training sessions and performs yard duties as needed.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnostics with supervisor's guidance.
  • Works overtime as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical school diploma with emphasis on diesel engines preferred.
  • Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience.
  • Administrative/clerical experience.
  • Customer service experience.

Physical Demands & Competencies

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, using hands, hearing.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, handling heavy objects up to 100 pounds.
  • Data entry, telephone use, reading/writing, reasoning, organization, communication, and math skills.
  • Safety and product knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of diagrams and schematics.
  • Intermediate diagnostic aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Wynne, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows/Internet.

Skills

  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand operation manuals.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Pay

The pay rate for the Rental Diesel Technician is $22.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Schedule

Hours are flexible and based on workload and customer needs.
