Rental Coordinator-Dispatch

About the role

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Rental Coordinator/Dispatch for our Waukegan, IL branch. This role is responsible for the efficient handling and control of the rental business through proper inventory, record keeping, delivery, and reporting, as well as other duties specified by the Rental Manager.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer questions quickly, clearly, and completely.
• Recommend equipment appropriate for the job; handle complaints on a timely basis and maintain positive communications with customers.
• Communicate internally with the Department Manager and provide adequate notice to rental technicians for upcoming machine requirements.
• Work with other department personnel to assist them with rental information as required.
• Ensure promises are maintained and deliveries are made on schedule; advise customers of known delays.
• Maintain the P.O. book, rental spec information, and rental procedures book in good working order.
• Manage the trailer and equipment record book, lost rentals, inspection files, and trucking files.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of rental equipment applications, safety, and maintenance requirements; instruct customers in proper use.
• Handle customer complaints diplomatically and report any conditions needing further company attention to the department manager.
• Dispatch trucks in a timely and orderly fashion, ensuring drivers have log books, inspection sheets, and contracts.
• Ensure every contract is filled out 100%, including all required blanks, inspections, rental agreements, and damage waivers.
• Perform other duties as prescribed by the Rental Manager from time to time.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift 90 lbs, 50% of the time, to unload equipment.
• Must be knowledgeable about the operation of a personal computer and Microsoft Office.
• Cooperate with other company personnel and advise supervisors of departmental changes affecting company success.

Pay

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $21–$26/hr based on candidate experience.
