Renewables Operations Worker

This location, adjacent to The Andersons' grain elevator in Albion, Michigan, manages a 140 million gallon dry mill fuel ethanol plant which requires 48 million bushels of corn to operate and produces 375,000 tons of distiller dried grains annually. Ethanol, E-85, corn oil, and CO2 are available.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities such as probing trucks
• Operate grain handling and receiving equipment; provide customer service to drivers and perform data entry of shipment details
• Monitor equipment and processes to identify issues; resolve or escalate issues when necessary
• Operate various types of mobile equipment
• Assist with the movement of railcars
• Perform general housekeeping activities

Minimal job-related experience is expected. Work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy. Duties are clearly defined and methods and tasks are described in detail.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Previous grain operations experience preferred
• Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver’s license preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

• Work is performed in an ethanol production facility that operates 24x7
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends during high-demand periods
• Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time
• Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feet
• Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
• Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces
