Scope of Job
We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from experienced Technician 3 to expert Technician 4 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Responsibilities
- Primary Focus: On-the-job autonomy & leadership
- Technician 2 (Experienced): Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades. Responsible for independent preventative maintenance. Participates in the 24-hour "On Call" rotation.
- Technician 3 (Senior): Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks. Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventative maintenance. May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.
- Technician 4 (Expert/Lead): Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance and leads major repairs. Acts as a subject matter expert (SME). Trains and signs off on the competency of Techs 1-3. Assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence.
- Shared Responsibilities: All technicians share a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and asset integrity. Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, and lead site safety assessments. Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly. Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation. Attend all required safety and technical training. Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Requirement Type: Tech 2 (Experienced), Tech 3 (Senior), Tech 4 (Expert/Lead)
- Experience: 1 to 2 years in renewable energy or similar discipline, 2+ years renewable energy experience, 2-4 years of renewable energy experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, High school diploma or equivalent, High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge & Skills: Basic knowledge of schematics, multi-meter use, and electrical/mechanical components, Deep competency in generation theory, Advanced knowledge of electrical safety, arc flash standards, and NEC, Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools, Advanced working knowledge of wind/solar industry best practices and the ability to effectively coach, instruct, and train less experienced technicians

- Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Field Work: Work is primarily conducted 100% in the renewable asset field for Techs 2-3. Tech 4 may spend approximately 20% of time in the office environment. Work at Height: Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) and work at those heights and in confined spaces. Conditions: Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical-mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy. Lifting: Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Safety Restriction (Wind only): Due to weight restrictions for fall-arrest equipment, the maximum employee weight must not exceed 285 lbs.
