RENDERING SUPERVISOR - 3RD SHIFT

Division: Pork | Department: Rendering | Location: Marshalltown, IA | Salary Class: Exempt
Reports to: Rendering Superintendent

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill of rendering facility
• Prior supervisory experience highly recommended
• Good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Work 40+ hours per week in rendering facilities
• Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, strong odor, chemicals, machinery and vehicles

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate and direct personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures
• Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of rendering employees; ensure proper training of employees
• Anticipate and determine causes of delays in operations and take appropriate actions to meet schedules
• Apply company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees
• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production
• Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained (i.e., payroll, vacations, orders, weights)
• Arrange for trucks and railroad cars to be filled with appropriate product when scheduled; complete necessary paperwork
• Work closely with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility
