About the role
At UpLift, we act as the bridge between patients, providers, and insurers, empowering patients to find the best care for their mental health needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients via telemedicine.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medication when clinically appropriate.
- Provide supervision and oversight to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in states requiring collaborative agreements.
- Complete required chart reviews and provide timely consultation support to NPs.
- Maintain responsiveness for collaboration duties in accordance with state requirements and UpLift standards.
- Collaborate with UpLift’s network of therapists and other providers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Share product and workflow feedback with UpLift’s engineering and operations teams to help improve care delivery.
Requirements
- Board-certified Psychiatrist with active clinical experience.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina.
- Multi-state licensure strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising or collaborating with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (e.g. NPs).
- Comfortable prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by state law.
- Skilled at using online tools and technology to deliver virtual care.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely consultation support.
- Previous telemedicine experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently and make clinical decisions according to state telehealth laws and professional standards.
- Must be able to coordinate care with UpLift’s network of therapists and other providers.
- Must be able to maintain responsiveness for collaboration duties in accordance with state requirements and UpLift standards.

Benefits
- Flexible earnings model: Compensation includes both patient care and collaboration activities.

Pay
- Compensation is paid on a per-activity basis and is not a guaranteed hourly wage or salary amount.
- Actual earnings vary based on state-requirements, completed activities, patient care activity, and other operational factors.
Schedule
- This role is 100% remote, with care delivered via UpLift’s purpose-built telemedicine platform.
- Part-time, 1099 contract position with autonomy over your clinical schedule.
