About the role

At UpLift, we act as the bridge between patients, providers, and insurers, empowering patients to find the best care for their mental health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients via telemedicine.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medication when clinically appropriate.
  • Provide supervision and oversight to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in states requiring collaborative agreements.
  • Complete required chart reviews and provide timely consultation support to NPs.
  • Maintain responsiveness for collaboration duties in accordance with state requirements and UpLift standards.
  • Collaborate with UpLift’s network of therapists and other providers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Share product and workflow feedback with UpLift’s engineering and operations teams to help improve care delivery.

Requirements

  • Board-certified Psychiatrist with active clinical experience.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina.
  • Multi-state licensure strongly preferred.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (e.g. NPs).
  • Comfortable prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by state law.
  • Skilled at using online tools and technology to deliver virtual care.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely consultation support.
  • Previous telemedicine experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently and make clinical decisions according to state telehealth laws and professional standards.
  • Must be able to coordinate care with UpLift’s network of therapists and other providers.
  • Must be able to maintain responsiveness for collaboration duties in accordance with state requirements and UpLift standards.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prescribe medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by state law.
  • Proficiency in using online tools and technology for virtual care.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

Benefits

  • Flexible earnings model: Compensation includes both patient care and collaboration activities.
  • Opportunity to earn $30 per completed chart review.
  • Total monthly earnings may vary based on state coverage and activity.

Pay

  • Compensation is paid on a per-activity basis and is not a guaranteed hourly wage or salary amount.
  • Actual earnings vary based on state-requirements, completed activities, patient care activity, and other operational factors.

Schedule

  • This role is 100% remote, with care delivered via UpLift’s purpose-built telemedicine platform.
  • Part-time, 1099 contract position with autonomy over your clinical schedule.
