Remote Psychiatrist Collaborative Physician (MD)
About the role
At UpLift, we act as the bridge between patients, providers, and insurers, empowering patients to find the best care for their needs at a price they can afford. Our mission is to provide psychiatric services to individuals who might otherwise lack access to mental healthcare, while also expanding access to care through our collaborative model.
Responsibilities
- Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients via telemedicine.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medication when clinically appropriate.
- Provide supervision and oversight to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in states requiring collaborative agreements.
- Complete required chart reviews and provide timely consultation support to NPs.
- Maintain responsiveness for collaboration duties in accordance with state requirements and UpLift standards.
- Collaborate with UpLift’s network of therapists and other providers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Provide empathetic, evidence-based care while upholding UpLift’s clinical and service standards.
- Share product and workflow feedback with UpLift’s engineering and operations teams to help improve care delivery.

- Comfortable prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by state law.
- Skilled at using online tools and technology to deliver virtual care.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely consultation support.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Georgia.
- Multi-state licensure strongly preferred.
- Previous telemedicine experience is a plus.
Benefits
- Flexible earnings model: Compensation includes both patient care and collaboration activities.
- Expand access to care: Provide psychiatric services to individuals who otherwise may not have access to mental healthcare.
- Collaborative model: Support and supervise Nurse Practitioners (NPs) through formal collaboration agreements, including chart reviews and consultation.
- All-in-one virtual platform: Focus on your patients — UpLift handles credentialing, enrollment, and platform operations.
- Flexible commitment: Part-time, 1099 contract position with autonomy over your clinical schedule.
Pay
This role is compensated on a per-activity basis and varies based on state-requirements, completed activities, patient care activity, and other operational factors. Compensation includes both patient care and collaboration activities. Physicians can earn $25 per assigned supervision slot (in capped states) and $30 per completed chart review. Total monthly earnings may vary based on state coverage and activity.
Schedule
This is a part-time, contract (1099) position — not a salaried employee role. Physicians may set their own schedules for patient care; however, collaboration responsibilities require ongoing responsiveness. Physicians may stop seeing patients at any time, but collaborative agreement responsibilities require a 120-day wind-down period to ensure continuity of care.
