About the role

We are seeking a Control Board Operator to join our Remote Operations Control Center (ROCC) team in Independence, OH. This role involves remote monitoring and controlling production facilities, managing supply, and providing on-site support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Remotely monitors and maintains the safe operation of production facilities using DCS, HMI, and PLC systems.
  • Executes process engineer recommendations to adjust operating modes and optimize energy usage.
  • Manages short-term supply availability by collaborating with logistics teams and managing product inventory.
  • Safely executes emergency protocols during plant upsets or equipment failures.
  • Diagnoses and resolves plant alerts, alarms, and malfunctions related to mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical devices.
  • Works closely with engineering personnel to identify and resolve ongoing plant challenges and long-term performance trends.
  • Maintains rigorous documentation of all operational incidents, communications, and plant readings.
  • Periodically provides on-site field support for plant startups, local technician training, and leave coverage.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and cGMP regulations.
  • Assists with safety incident investigations and updates standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience operating a control board in an industrial plant setting.
  • Two-year technical college degree or military technical experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces and a strong background in Electrical or Instrumentation (E&I) troubleshooting.
  • Able to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control logic.
  • Industry background in Air Separation or Cryogenic plants is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and adaptability to work independently under pressure.
  • Digital literacy, proficiency in Google Workspace and digital maintenance management systems.

Skills

  • Experience with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage short-term supply availability.
  • Experience with crisis management and emergency protocols.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain rigorous documentation and adhere to regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with safety incident investigations and updating SOPs.
