Remote Inpatient Coder
Job Description
The remote Inpatient Coder is responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedural code using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems and monitors bill hold reports. Serves as a liaison to Clinical documentation Specialists for ICD-10 inpatient encounters for accurate code and MSDRG assignments. Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of 3M encoder, EPIC electronic health record is required.
- Must have a minimum 4yrs recent acute care inpatient coding experience.
- Comfortable with hitting a 95% accuracy or better and hitting productivity standards.
- Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four (4) years recent acute care hospital Inpatient Coding and abstracting experience.
- Recent Level I OR II Trauma experience.
- Extensive knowledge with recent 3M 360 and EPIC software.
- CCS Credential required.
- Strong communication (written/verbal)
- Must have ah experience in writing queries
- Be technically savvy.

- M – F 8hrs per day, 40hrs a week, during standard business hours
