Schedule
- 2 different night shift options: 7pm–5am OR 10pm–8am
- Must support PST time zone
Pay
$68–74/hr
About the role
- 3-month contract with potential for extensions
Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies)
- Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration; make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate
- Operate and troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems
- Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
- Dispense controlled substances and maintain regulatory compliance
- Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws
- Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements
- Answer clinical questions and provide guidance
- Collaborate with healthcare team members
- Document all healthcare team communications
- Investigate and resolve medication errors
- Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Maintain required regulatory documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
- Understanding of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations
- Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
