Qualifications
- Active California Bar license
- Minimum 2 years of California Workers' Compensation experience
- Experience managing cases from inception through resolution
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Strong litigation, negotiation, and client communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent organizational and case management skills
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of California Workers' Compensation cases
- Take and defend applicant, witness, and expert depositions
- Appear before the WCAB for hearings, Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs), trials, and other proceedings
- Draft petitions, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel
- Maintain exceptional communication with clients throughout their cases
- Collaborate with support staff to efficiently move cases toward successful resolution
