About the Role

The Project Consultant (PC) engages, assesses, and procures new clients through self-promotion and lead generation. The PC meets prospective clients at their homes to discuss design options, cost ranges, timeframes, and the Lars design-build process, providing the highest level of customer service with weekly updates throughout the process. The PC serves as the direct conduit between the homeowner and the Lars team and is eligible for incentive bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Sales (70%):
    • Sell $2.5 million annually (initial year), $3 million thereafter.
    • Convert at least 20% of design consultations into design agreements.
    • Convert at least 80% of design agreements into contracts.
    • Cultivate and self-generate leads and sales for Lars Remodeling & Design.
    • Provide in-home consultations with prospective clients to obtain design agreements.
    • Establish rapport and schedule customer appointments in-home and at Lars Remodeling & Design.
    • Discuss and provide accurate timeframes for design, permitting, and building of projects.
    • Discuss and provide accurate cost ranges for client projects.
    • Educate potential clients on design services and company-sponsored finance options.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure clarity on client goals, expectations, design possibilities, and costs.
    • Communicate client ideas, goals, budget, and timeframe to the team.
    • Properly document existing home building and finishes.
    • Manage the design team throughout the design and estimating process.
    • Review designs, estimates, and scope of work to communicate effectively with the team and clients.
    • Update, document, and provide changes from conversations within 48 hours.
    • Review designs with homeowners for team updates on plans, pricing, and scope of work.
    • Properly document and contract clients using Lars Home Improvement Agreement.
    • Define realistic start and completion dates.
    • Provide and explain detailed payment schedules, lead and asbestos documentation, and notice of cancellation.
    • Clearly explain the detailed scope of work and obtain client approval.
    • Maintain relationship and communication throughout project production.
    • Participate in field measures at the client's home alongside the Lars team.
    • Walk with trades and vendors during or after the design phase for accurate quotes.
    • Engage with trades and vendors to network and grow a referral base.
    • Stay updated on current design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
    • Participate in home shows as needed.
  • Administration (30%):
    • Manage, document, and follow up with all potential clients via calls, in-person communication, and email through Builder Trend (BT).
    • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the team's design portfolio.
    • Identify inefficiencies or areas of improvement and create documentation and processes.
    • Attend and present at "Educate Before You Renovate" workshops.
    • Report updates to the Director of Sales (DOS) at weekly sales meetings.
    • Maintain involvement in all company-sponsored marketing and training programs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel to various locations.
  • Daily interaction with customers.
  • Standing, sitting, and using a telephone or keyboard for extended periods.
  • Looking at a computer monitor for extended periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and stooping.
  • Climbing ladders and stools throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to low to moderate noise levels.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • CA Driver's License (required).
  • Experience in customer service (required).
  • Experience in home sales of residential remodeling (required).
  • Experience in cost estimating (preferred).
  • Experience in construction and project management (preferred).

Equipment and Applications

  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Working knowledge of software including:
    • Adobe Photoshop.
    • PDF – Xchange for PDF creation.
    • Builder Trend (construction management software).
    • Hubspot (marketing and sales software).
