Remodeler Carpenter Handyman

Responsibilities

• Completing small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects (project length ranges from two hours to two days).
• Making recommendations and managing expectations with customers about the scope of work and costs.
• Creating life-long customers by delivering a great experience following the Mr. Handyman Way—a repeatable process designed to wow the customer every time.

How We’ll Measure Performance

• Customer Satisfaction (NPS): Encourage customers to complete a survey to rate their satisfaction; high response and satisfaction rates are required.
• Revenue Target: Find additional ways to be of service to the customer once on-site.
• Effective Billing Rate: Invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payment from the customer.
• Recall Percentage: Guarantee all work for one year by ensuring it is done correctly the first time.

Requirements

• Live within the area.
• 8+ years’ experience as a paid handyman.
• Own your own tools.
• Be insurable for driving our vehicle.
• Pass a background and driving record check.
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods.
• Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle.
• Strong proficiency in at least three of the following:
  • Carpentry work
  • Bathroom improvements
  • Kitchen improvements
  • Painting (interior and exterior)
  • Drywall work (minor and major repairs)
  • General plumbing and electrical (where allowed by law)
  • Floor installation and refurbishing

Skills

• Self-management (often working alone).
• Excellent customer service, including explaining work and collecting payments.
• Proficiency with technology (e.g., iPad, ServiceTitan system).
• Documentation of jobs following the Mr. Handyman Way process.
• Use of proper PPE and booties to protect customers’ homes.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.00 to $35.00 per hour, dependent on experience with home repair and maintenance projects such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.
