About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will perform a wide range of remodeling tasks, including installation and repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and drywall in empty properties and remodel/turnover of assigned locations. This role requires flexibility to handle unanticipated situations, work constructively with residents, and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of occupied and empty properties, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and drywall work.
  • Demonstrate superior customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and comply with local building codes.
  • Install, repair, texture, and paint drywall.
  • Remove, frame, and repair walls, cabinetry, and shelving.
  • Install kitchen cabinets, countertops, appliances, and related plumbing/electrical components.
  • Perform demolition following manager or lead instructions using appropriate tools.
  • Install windows, doors/hardware, and interior/exterior trim.
  • Repair walls, floors, cabinets, and ceilings from leaks or other damage.
  • Document work as required.
  • Select, transport, and safely use tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Understand occupational hazards and follow safety precautions.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision and conduct physical inventory of materials.
  • Use hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws, screwdrivers) and operate power machinery (e.g., roto-hammers, drills, cutting equipment).
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and equipment.
  • Work safely without posing a threat to self or others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of related construction experience with mechanical skills/aptitude and ability to use tools.
  • Current Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
