About the role

Fiduciary Real Estate Development (FRED) is seeking a skilled Remodel Technician to join our maintenance team. Located in the Milwaukee region, this position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Perform remodeling tasks such as demolition, installation of appliances, cabinets, countertops, vanities, flooring, light fixtures, drywall, and caulking.
  • Conduct painting and drywall repairs to ensure a high-quality and professional appearance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues as part of the remodeling process.
  • Absorb and assist in apartment turnover preparation and general remodel efforts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including HVAC filter changes, lock replacements, pool upkeep, and window covering installations.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, minimizing disruption to residents.
  • Accurately document time tracking, daily logs, and checklists as assigned.
  • Report any areas of disrepair to the Property Manager.
  • Winter months involve mandatory hours for snow events.

Requirements

  • Experience in remodeling, painting, drywall repair, and general maintenance (3+ years preferred).
  • Knowledge of construction, painting techniques, and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently, follow instructions, and pay attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with residents and team members.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs (with assistance).
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and wear required safety gear.
  • Must be able to commit to 2-3 on-call rotations annually (on-call is one week of evening and weekend coverage).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Skills

  • Proficiency in construction and painting techniques.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in remodeling and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

Competitive base hourly rate with bonus incentives.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, availability between 8am - 5pm with on-call rotation 2-3 times a year.
