About the role
Bayview Community is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remodel Technician to help transform and maintain our high-end retirement living spaces. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced construction professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and creating beautiful, move-in-ready homes for residents.
Responsibilities
- Receives and responds to work orders; performs repairs involving paint, drywall, carpentry, facility improvements, resident satisfaction, and more.
- Carries out or assists with building renovations including refurbishing apartments in preparation for the “move-in” of new residents, redecorating common areas, renovating space, and installing new equipment.
- Solicits, receives, and analyzes comments from residents and other customers relating to maintenance services; shares feedback from customers with other maintenance services staff for the purposes of passing on compliments and ensuring a team effort to satisfying customer requests and considering customer recommendations; modifies processes to increase resident satisfaction; provides residents with feedback as to how their requests and recommendations are being handled.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
- Three to Five years’ experience in and/or construction trades combined with building maintenance experience.
- Current Washington State driver’s license is desirable.
- Must have a strong background and experience with construction.
- Ability to read and interpret facility blue prints and mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
- Working knowledge of hazardous material and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Working knowledge of modes of transmission of infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, and the practice of universal precautions.
- Understands and respects Residents’ Rights.
- Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools in a correct and safe manner.
