Remediation Project Engineer - Mechanical/Environmental

Key Responsibilities

  • Remedial system designs such as groundwater extraction and treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, thermal remediation system, and in-situ injection remedies
  • Create engineering design documents including technical specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and as-built drawings
  • Perform remedy selection and feasibility evaluations for complex sites with multiple contaminants and regulatory frameworks
  • Conduct performance monitoring design and optimization, and system O&M evaluations
  • Support permitting efforts (RCRA, NPDES, Air) and development of regulatory submittals

Required Experience And Expertise

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 8–12 years of environmental consulting experience with progressive technical and project responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in remedial design and implementation, environmental data analysis, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience managing scopes, schedules, and budgets on engineering-focused tasks or projects
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, and applicable modeling software
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Able to travel for field programs and client meetings, as needed (10–15%)
  • PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year
  • Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, and state environmental regulatory programs
  • Experience mentoring and delegating to junior staff and contributing to internal knowledge sharing
